Napkins vs Paper Towels | NYC Comedy Show | NA Bev Taste Testing

Not that you're asking, but these are the events I would go to.

If I lived in Boston, there are two things I would do:

  1. Run along the Charles, cause no one is ever mad after seeing that view.

  2. Go to Dray Drinks x Lime Social Club on Feb 13 in The South End.

That Simple!

Two tasks that would be a recipe for happiness.

And If I were in NYC, I would want those available to be… Since I can’t move the river, I’ll work on recreating #2.

xx,

Caite

Napkins vs. Paper Towels

I wasn’t going to write about this, but then I was at dinner with a friend (Hi Seeley!) and she told me this was good newsletter thoughts.

SO!

The background: Seeley and I were using paper towels at an at-home dinner one night — my mom recently told me that she thinks napkins are cheaper than paper towels.

I find this bizarre because I just assume napkins are the more ‘luxury product’ here so they would be more?? Like special occasions only?

Nope.

We did some ‘back of the napkin math’ (Pun intended)

Napkins come out to 1 cent per piece. Paper towels are about 3 cents per piece.

Which… it’s only 2 cents of a difference, but a bit wild to think how such similar paper products can result in a 60% difference in price.

Arguably making a difference over time. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • This Painter I love to follow posted the coolest book — I think this video really just shows how cool simple thoughts can create outstanding creative output… ugh. love it.

  • My book club just finished reading The Things We Leave Unfinished by Rebecca Yarro — The overall consensus was that it was a great book… I don’t think it was necessarily a phenomenal book club book, mainly because there were no guiding questions. But whoa- great plot, easy to read and… veryyyyyyyyy juicy. Read at your own risk!

  • Leaving these here for one more week because I loved them so much:

    • If you were in a room with everyone you ever met, who would be the person you looked for?

    • If someone gave you a box of everything you ever lost, what would you look for first?

    • If you had the chance to relive one day of your life, which day would it be and why?

    • If you could receive a letter from your future self, what advice or insight would you hope to find in it?

    • Imagine you had a chance to choose a moment from your past, which moment would you choose? Would you choose to do anything differently - if anything at all?

    • If you had to define your purpose in one sentence, what would it be? How does it influence the choices in your daily life?

  • Early Feb: Purse Power: Lime Social Club will be hosting an open conversation and Q&A with Financial Planning Experts to help us better understand best practices, how to start small, and what financial freedom can look like.

    • Caite’s Note: I am personally really excited about this — I don’t think enough women talk about money with each other and how to best invest it, what to do with it or what their accounts really look like. We will have experts there to chat with and will open up a submission form for people to send in questions beforehand. & this won’t be stuffy. Think: fun, laughing, drinks, snacks, NYC picnic tables but also education, power creation and women helping lift women. This will be fun but also a catalyst to help better prepare ourselves for a future of financial freedom!

  • Saturday, Feb 17, All Day: Lime Social Club Self Love Day We love love, but we also love taking care of our mind and body! Start the day off with movement, meditation, and art followed by an evening activity. Each activity will be sold separately so you can participate where you want. Details to come.
