Lets all be a bit more delusional | Holiday Party | Canned Goods

Goal Setting, but the delulu way | LSC Holiday Party!

I work from two different coworking spaces.

One of which is Green Desk — my entrepreneurial nerd friends may know as Adam Neumann's first “Wework” prototype.

Neumann is many things, but delusional is very high on that list of adjectives.

And I’m jealous of that.

Why?

Because I was thinking about my goals and what I “want to be when I grow up” and I find the realistic ones are harder to attain for me.

There is something to be said about shooting for delusional goals. Like… I think the more extreme the goal or idea:

  • You have to create larger change in your day-to-day life to attain it.

  • You have to continually ask for help, think about how to get there, and who can help you.

  • You have to ask hard questions to get potentially simple questions.

  • You have to change the status quo and challenge yourself and others.

More realistic goals, in my mind, tend to create minor changes in your day-to-day. Maybe helpful, but not life-changing.

But delusional goals… well even if you don’t hit the goal, you will land somewhere far away from where you started.

Every successful person I know, follow or look up to sounded crazy for a while.

Until all of a sudden, they weren’t.

&, I think that’s kind of awesome.

I actually think I need some more far-out goals.

xx

T-Shirts in a Can: Canned Goods T-Shirts

When I was in school I quickly learned:

The smartest people are not those who know it all, they are the people that ask the best questions.

Well… This kid did that.

At 19 years old, Easton, thought there had to be a way to ship goods without plastic.

On a mission for sustainability- Canned Goods was created out of his dorm room.

Sustainable, collectible tees in cans, all well-curated designs and the company helps fund missions to clean up plastic. They have a plastic-free supply chain and use local suppliers for all their materials.

Aluminum tends to be recycled more and has more second lives than plastic. Plus, it makes an awesome pop sound when you open the can for your new Tee.

Canned Goods boasts over 33k followers on Instagram and 204.5k followers on TikTok — they only launched within the year.

You can read more about their mission here.

An extremely simple product built on one question.

I love it when younger people are able to question the status quo of something as ‘boring’ as our supply chain habits and recreate an entire brand out of it.

I wonder what else we haven’t thought of yet?

Shipping on boats? The assembly line?

What else is antiquated out here?

Check out some of Canned Goods Apparel below & here.

  • I have been really listening to Fleetwood Mac Radio, like a lot. Figured I’d share this Spotify playlist that has been on every night for the last month.

  • I found this young artist who is building a fully sustainable and recycled bag line. She is working with bio-fabrics to bring new life to sweaters that have been donated or tossed. She posts about her whole process on Instagram and it’s so interesting to watch. Find her here.

  • This morning, Lime Social Club partnered with designers collab. to bring a group of people together for pilates and coffee. We were led by Amanda Hinge and had such an amazing morning. I just wanted to say thank you to all those that came & we saw so many new faces! It is lovely to see how much LSC has continued to grow.
