This past Sunday I met 50 new friends at our Welcome Spring Party in partnership with Arete.

It was so awesome meeting so many new people and seeing everyone interact, make connections, and — my favorite aesthetic piece of the party — make mini bouquets.

We have a lot in the works & are looking to bring y’all more activities across a broader spectrum of events!

I don’t not believe in star signs, but I couldn’t tell you what signs are for different birthdays. 

What I have found insanely interesting though: people really lean into astrology (myself included at times!) & there is a pattern.

In moments of extreme uncertainty there is usually a rush towards finding meaning. Many times that’s religion — like during the 2008 Recession for instance, church attendances exponentially grew.

Astrology’s popularity was always about the same until the COVID Pandemic — there was a +65% rise in Astrology App usages alone.

The things I found the most interesting? 

• 60% of Millennials believe and significantly participate in “new age spirituality”.

• Spiritual Mediums account for 20% of the $2.2B astrology income.

• The astrology industry as a whole has increase + 75% since 2016.

• Globally, the Astrology market is sitting at 12.8B and is projected to grow to $22.8B by 2031. (CAGR of 5.7% from 2022-2031).

• Co-star App (the second highest App download in this market) made $360M in 2022, up from $293M in 2021 in Net income — thats a 26% increase!

• Astrology has high retention rates, as people download apps they continue to use them for very long periods of time.

• This industry is mostly female occupied, leaning heavily in Millennials and Gen Z.

People identify with their signs, use the materials they read and recieve as signs of hope, good fortune or guidance.. I know I do!

& Apps like Co-Star let you follow your friends charts and they will even give you readings on your best friendships that day based on star signs — all then creating a lay of social networking to it all.

It’s pretty cool — but seeing growth numbers like these is making me think I should start writing about astrology outlooks? Is mars is going into retrograde?

• Australia is wider than the moon. (google recently told me this, don’t ask me to verify.)

• Last night was my Bookclubs 2 year birthday (awe, cute) — anyways, we were trying to pick our next book, but instead there was tons of chatter about the book: In Five Years. A bunch of the girls had read it and said its one of those books you just can’t put down and you’ll be done within a day or two. SO! I have not yet read it, but for my readers out there — this is my next personal read! So I am sharing it with you!
